View all files for the entire Workspace (File Manager)
Adam Ennis
As refugees from Basecamp 2, one feature that I've not seen in action in ClickUp that we'll miss is the ability to see all files for a given project in one place—and, indeed, all files across all projects
I believe a good place to initiate this view would be would be a 4th view button to the right of BOARD. (Please excuse the crudity of this model.)
Files for a given list, space, team would be viewable depending on what level a user is situated.
Being able to click on these files and go to the discussion(s) in which they're attached would also be fantastic.
Indeed, using search or looking for the attachment icon on tasks is simple enough, but viewing all the "things" and starting there is a really powerful way to get users to get their bearings, especially if you're coming into a project that's been going on for awhile.
Hopefully, this isn't a duplicate request. I'll take my answer off the air.

This will never get implemented, because right now being unable to manage files as a free user is so frustrating they might be tempted to switch over to a paid plan. By making it easier to manage files, they are more likely to stay under their 100MiB limit.

Yes, need a view on files. One per workspace is fine for me.
(2000 votes and 5 years later, not seeing it on the roadmap though...)

Spent a good amount of time trying out how to make this view possible 😅
One of the reasons this was so useful to use in basecamp was we have a large design team and at a glance you can see what everyone is working on. This helps the creators that might not be on a task, as well as the approvers to flag things early.

Please this, it would be nice to see files and be able to view them in icon view, list view etc. sort / filter / organize byt date, space -> folder -> list, file type, name, who uploaded, see associated tasks easily. Maybe ability to create a files folder I could share with clients and they can upload info to share with me? IE If im designing a website and will be sent 50+ images from client over the course of a week, there should be an easy way to manage this scenario.

It should work like Docs Home, really.
Also would be useful to be able to have a "Files" View. - https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/files-as-a-view

Would be very helpful if the file manager could search within attached items, too.

We want a centralized place to view all attachments so that we can regularly review and delete PII that clients email us. 🙄

Hey Waleed Elaghil Sydney- can we expect an update on services to hand file organization and discovery?
It is unwieldy to attach files to tasks that are lost into the abyss. The minimum ability to see files available at each level of the clickup hierarchy would be ideal

Hey, Jordan! Thanks for your feedback! While we don't have an exact ETA fort he ability to view files across your Workspace, this is something the squad has on their radar to start exploring next year.

I would love to be able to see all the files that are within a Task and its Subtasks.
Sometimes I have a file attached to a Subtask that has been Completed, so it gets hidden from view and forgotten about.
Something like this suggestion would work - https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/show-attachments-from-all-tasks-and-subtasks-in-a-list-or-folder
