Spreadsheet / Table View
complete

Click Up should have a spreadsheet view with the ability to manipulate and export CSV files. I've used a lot of productivity software in the past and Click Up is without a doubt one of the best. I tried it out for a bit and converted almost instantly. But what would make it truly unstoppable is an ability to create custom spreadsheets similar to "Airtable". Now it does not need to happen right now and the functionality does not need to be as advanced, but to be the ultimate productivity software it seems that's the only major thing missing.

For me the main purpose of spreadsheets is the ability to do advanced calculations. I think maybe the best possible workaround short of implementing really robust formulas and functions in click up would be to create a two-way integration between Google Sheets and or Excel where you have a column with the task ID and you just specify custom fields for all the other columns to sync to, two-way. That way you could do all the calculations in the spreadsheet and pull the results into click up in real time.

How can i make new columns with the name of the space inside the cell?

This an update of what I posted @ https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/dashboard-and-databasespreadsheet-support and https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/spreadsheet-table-view-improvements :
While discovering the power of Notion, which seems quite close to Coda too (and probably Airtable), I am surprised to see that what they call "Databases" which are super flexible custom spreadsheets, are not yet included independently as such (nor in progress?) in Clickup.
The most important part here is that those databases have also the super power of interoperability.
And lastly, due to the super flexible approach of Notion, those databases have to be part of a Doc, which allows adding comments and much more. Since Docs are not limited in sub-directory creations we may create an absolutely limitless ecosystem. This is management dream become true.
Let's mention here that Clickup tasks (especially with the table view) are pretty close to databases, but the last has more flexibility with less constraints (advanced relationships etc by default), so that a decision has to be made about making task lists a database "type" that could then eventually be included in a Doc, or something really appart (I would probably go for the first approach, while arguing, keep things as flexible yet simple as possible (the obvious never repeated enough :-)).
I would love to hear about this sooooooo soon to be part of the Clickup ecosystem.
++> Let's just point two things here to achieve it :
- Docs are still missing the clear and flexible approach offered in Notion (don't re-invent the wheel here might be the good approach).
- Workspaces should probably be more open to share anything between them. The open/closed workspace status should be a configuration choice for its owner. This would then allow easy transfer of spaces & tasks, and would also allow tasks to be used across all workspaces, just like the mentioned databases.
In such a configuration, each Clickup user could build its own Dashboard workspace to include whatever he wants, displaying any views from different workspaces, like chats, an aggregated calendar to ensure consistency in his personal management etc..
Two last points are somewhat I am waiting for since day one. Let's hope that all this + databases will become true soon.
Hoping to read staff about all this pls!

Great update! I'm looking forward to LookUp and RollUp to get some Airtable-like features: "Soon, we'll be adding advanced features like LookUp and RollUp to create relationships between tasks." as seen on https://dev-doc.clickup.com/p/ad-21862/release-2-48

editing long text custom fields in table view is nearly impossible, would love to see improvement in v2

Any possibility you can implement sub-tasks like the list view? I prefer them getting docked with the main task rather than free floating.

To add to the ever growing list of UI suggestions, the labels and statuses should really be centered vertically (and having the option to vertically center a row when changing the row height).

Another bug: The custom field (long text) or any field should really take up the full field width here.

This should be centered

Bug: When you add a custom field, the columns shift and task name unpins and moves into a random place Nick

Also autosave and auto-size don't stick when changing from table to another view, and back. That really should stick. They also change width when adding new fields. (they shrink down dramatically)

Dean Phillips: Hmmm, that was a bug we found in QA before releasing and fixed (or so we thought) I haven't been able to reproduce it though - noted and will continue to try! Also made a note for the auto size issue 🙂 Checkbox has already been fixed in our internal staging environment along with image sizing so expect to see those Friday!
Dean Phillips
Nick: Ah no worries man. These things are bound to happen 🙂 Another UI tweak that's needed is for images to grow with the table size too. They don't right now.
Compare airtable to clickup with this:

Hey Nick, I'm actually still experiencing a lot of bugs with this view:
