In my opinion it is unacceptable to not be able to have a project management tool open in multiple windows
In the Meanwhile i found a new browser, named "Wavebox". This is a Chromium based app. You can even install Clickup through this (similar to Chrome browser), and after it works super smoothly. You can open any task in new Window and it is faster than the window app. Definitely recommended!

NIKOS KARANIKOLAS: this already works

Devin Shea: Not working in my PC with Windows 11. I have the latest updated version of the windows app. Maybe it is some setting that i should apply?
Devin Shea
NIKOS KARANIKOLAS: hmm. not personally using windows to confirm, but it's supposedly a feature. It definitely works on mac and I'm sure it's supposed to work in windows. check it out in this video. https://youtu.be/qXgIdMgNsDU?t=402

Devin Shea: That's usefull. Thank you! It works this way. Of course what i mean is to right click on a task or List and open it in new Window. But even like this is better than nothing. Thank you!

NIKOS KARANIKOLAS: I have not found any information about opening tasks as a new window, but this feature alone will make me pay for the app. Specially if the new window open in the second monitor. Can you share some snippet showing this?

NIKOS KARANIKOLAS
Alberto Alonso: Hi there! The only way is to open a new window of the app ("ctrl+N" for the windows 11 app) and find your task there. No ways to open with right click. However you may open a Link direclty to new window with right click. Hope this helps

Brendan W Seems like this is not actually complete? Can you mark it correctly or post how to achieve multiple windows on Windows 10?
Ilja
Nathan Boyer: Go to File then create new window (this is also explained below with a screenshot)
Nathan Boyer
Ilja: The original post asks for a Windows 10 implementation which does not have a File menu in the application.
Brendan W
Nathan Boyer: You should see it! Check out this photo I attached, or press CTRL + N to open a new window of the Desktop app!
Nathan Boyer
Brendan W: I don't have a File menu and Ctrl+N doesn't work. I will submit a bug report.
Brendan W
Nathan Boyer: Looking into this on my side right now!
Brendan W
Nathan Boyer Hey! Are you currently in full screen? If so, try to leave full screen! Additionally, give the app a quick restart if you could 😄
Nathan Boyer
Brendan W: No change after restart and leaving full-screen.
Brendan W
Nathan Boyer: Very odd - Please reach out to bugs@clickup.com so our team can assist you!
Randika Wijesinghe
Brendan W: Same issue here. I can't see the file menu and Ctrl + N doens't do anything
Saulius Baužinskas
Randika Wijesinghe: Download the latest version and install it. It seems it does not get updated automatically.
Ilja
Nathan Boyer: Well, I am also on Windows 10 so that is not the cause/difference
Nathan Boyer
Saulius Baužinskas: This was the issue thank you.
Nathan Boyer
Randika Wijesinghe: Looks like you must manually uninstall and reinstall using the latest version from their website.
Nathan Boyer
I agree. I'd rather not see the File menu either and just rely on Ctrl+N. Looks like it persists in and out of full-screen mode.

Saulius Baužinskas: Absolute legend, thank you!

Run Multiple Instances of App on Mac(and others, but Mac First!)

It would be AWESOME to run multiple instances of ClickUp App at the same time.
There is a way to do this with Skype on Mac where you:
1) Open Up "Terminal"
2) Copy/Paste/Enter this code: "open -na /Applications/Skype.app --args -DataPath /Users/$(whoami)/Library/Application\ Support/Skype2"
If we could do this on ClickUp that would be awesome!
Thanks all!

Brendan W: You marked this as complete but how do we open multiple instances of ClickUp on MacOs?
Brendan W
Jude Andre Legendre: Go to File then create new window, or use the handy hotkey! Check out the photo:
Jude Andre Legendre
Brendan W: Didn't notice that and it wasn't in the release notes. Thank you!
Brendan W
Jude Andre Legendre: Sneaky one 😉

This is something I just brought up to the Product Manager on our desktop app! I would personally love to see more options there for both MacOS and Windows, and we'll be looking into it!
Ilja
Brendan W I have the same request for in Windows but then when you just hold shift while left clicking a program in the taskbar, which normally opens a new window of the same program. This works for many programs, and I am not sure if this is automatically linked to the functionality of right clicking and then having the option to open a new window of a program.

Brendan W: This is great - thank you!

GS - If you're talking about the windows desktop app - you can achieve this yourself.
- While you have Clickup Open, you will be able to see the Clickup icon in your task bar (at the bottom of your screen).
- If you hold the 'Ctrl' button and 'right-mouse-click' you will see a menu appear just above the icon.
- In the menu, you should see the Clickup Icon and Application Name listed - if you click on that - it will open a new Clickup Application Window.
- Now you have the app open twice.
This is the same 99% of windows desktop applications.

Ryan Tirrell: It does not work. Windows Task Manager indicates that another instance was created in the background but does not appear as a new ClickUp window. Version 2.0.22, Windows 10 21H1.

Had the same need, happy to see it's already on it's way !

Open task in new window or tab (Windows desktop app)

I would really like to be able to open tasks in a new window (Windows desktop).
Many times I need to copy info between 2 tasks, split or merge 2 tasks and it would be much more efficient to have them open side by side to move / edit info between them.
