Incorrect order after dragging and dropping tasks
complete
N
Nick Herrera
When dragging and dropping tasks in a list view, a horizontal line is displayed to indicate where the dropped task will be inserted. However, as you can see from the following screen recording, that is not always the case.
In fact, it appears that if the cursor is a few pixels too high or too low the task will be inserted one position higher or lower than intended.

Hey everyone!
We've pushed out some changes that should have fixed the incorrect ordering of your tasks when you try dragging and dropping them.
Please let us know if you still are experiencing problems though and we'll get right on it!
Thanks!

@Zach Blodgett: Hi Zach,
I have just verified and it does not work well, it ignores my order and keeps randomally changing.
I've tested both on the windows app and the webapp.
An employee of mine has tested as well and it happens to him too.
Regards,
Aviran, HostAdvice.

@Zach Blodgett: I also am still having this issue, exactly as Aviran Zazn describes it

@Aviran Zazon: Thank you for the information! We've reopened this bug and are looking into what you described.

@Zach Blodgett: If it's any help, sorting was working great, and then I changed the primary list on a bunch of tasks that belong to multiple lists. It now seems to first order by List A-Z, and then order by task order.

@Zach Blodgett: I can confirm that reordering does not work reliably. Especially when reordering subtasks on the Mac desktop app in the board view, it sometimes puts them as a separate task, or it at a random place within the subtasks.
It works much more reliable in the task view (manual mode), however also here I have sometimes issues that I need to drag & drop a task multiple times before it sticks.

Overall drag and drop from list view has taken a huge step back with the latest enhancement for subtasks. I have the same issue where it seems to always go below or above one more than you want, or you think it disappears before you realize it is now a subtask of the task you were dropping it under or above.

@Ken Collier: I completely agree with you. I'm tired of undoing subtasks. We should have a way to only order them (dragging from the vertical double dotted line at the left of the tasks)
