People custom fields were added in Release 2.27!

In my case it'd be must have to fill Employee ID / Number, because it is key for integration with my ERP.

Other people custom fields would be helpful as well: weekly hours for resource management (maybe even split by project), role (complete tasks vs approve tasks), reports to, etc.
